The St. Michael Centre for Faith and Action

 

The St Michael Centre for Faith and Action is a Registered Charity No 1322 formed under the Charities Act, 243 of Barbados on 2 May 2017.

Its Mission is to engage the nation on issues of public interest with an emphasis on the integration of faith and action.

The Objectives and Goals are:

1. The advancement of public education and religion, specifically:

  • To engage with the questions of faith and action and how they relate to the influencing of personal conduct and the formulation of public policy;
  • To be a community of moral deliberation bringing the distinctive wisdom of the Christian faith to bear on our understanding of the pursuit of the common good.

2. The promotion of purposes beneficial to the community, specifically:

  • To create an environment which is conducive for dialogue, promote understanding, and work in partnership with all agencies and all people of goodwill;
  • To cultivate and facilitate an atmosphere for research and publication in the area of public theology for personal development and the advancement of church.
  •  To support such charity or charities or such charitable purpose or purposes as the Trustees shall in their absolute discretion think fit.

    3. The relief of poverty and specifically:
  •  To respond to human and social needs, demonstrating kindness showing the love of God to the vulnerable and to support the faithful in embodying this love in their everyday lives;
  • To support such charity or charities or such charitable purpose or purposes as the Trustees shall in their absolute discretion think fit.
